Description

Thanksy is a street artist movement performing random acts of kindness. Undercurrents was invited to spend the early morning with one artist in Swansea.
#Thanksy

We live in a society that seems to be turning its back on the most needy and vulnerable, That admires wealth over all else.
It is said that art reflects society, as well as inspires. This month someone taped a Banana to a wall and sold it for a small fortune, it was not art, but it was a reflection of society, a society where greed is the driver, where demand is driven by publicity and celebrity, where a piece of food is used for fantastic profit while others go hungry.
Could such 'art' inspire society? In a way this did, a small collective was formed, perhaps street art could inspire a more caring society? #Thanksy was born.

Thanksy is not an artist, anyone can be Thanksy, even you. All you need is tape and things someone less fortunate might need, It could be food or warm clothing where homeless people sleep, Guitar picks where buskers play, a tooth brush, the creativity is in thinking about what someone less fortunate might need, where, when? Your art is to bring a smile to a face with a random act of kindness.

When you see a random act of kindness say #Thanksy on social media, inspire others to make society care again.
